The idea of cutting the web into "the web of my département". Regional annuaires carry the name of a province or a city: Brittany has its own, Grenoble its own. Measured from a single meta-directory, three fates were visible at once: merged and surviving, shrunk to one town, gone. Quebec uses the same word. A directory drawn at the scale of land, one that a search box never shows.
